Welcome to PFLAG Dunedin!
PFLAG, which stands for Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, is a national non-profit organization that was formed in 1972. PFLAG unites people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) with family, friends, and allies.
PFLAG Dunedin formed in the Spring of 2015, and is one of the more than 400 PFLAG chapters in the USA. It was the first chapter in Pinellas County, Florida.
PFLAG Dunedin holds support meetings every month, usually on the Fourth Wednesday, from 7:00pm-9:00pm. (Check our calendar, as sometimes there are changes due to holidays.) We welcome everyone to our meetings who shares our Vision and Mission. Whether you are an LGBTQ+ person, or a friend, family member, or ally of LGBTQ+ people, we are here to support you.
PFLAG’s mission can be encompassed with these 3 words: Support, Education, & Advocacy.
- Support for people who are LGBTQ and their families, friends, and allies.
- Education – for ourselves and for our society – on the unique issues, life experiences, and challenges that are faced by LGBTQ people and their loved ones.
- Advocacy in our communities in order to effect change in attitudes, policies and laws in order to obtain full equality for people that are LGBTQ.
